What Is Project 5600?
One of our most cherished initiatives is Project 5600, a special program dedicated to brightening the holidays for children battling cancer at Akron Children’s Hospital.
For over 10 years, we have been proud to support the cancer floor (5600) at Akron Children’s Hospital by providing gifts and Christmas cheer to every child who is hospitalized during the holiday season.
This heartwarming initiative is made possible through the generosity of our community, with funds raised from the sale of our special Christmas ornaments. Every ornament purchased helps us bring joy to these brave young hearts, ensuring they experience the magic of the season even while in the hospital.
How It All Began:
The story of Project 5600 started when our Founder, during a catering event at Akron Children’s Hospital, realized that many children were spending the Christmas season in the hospital, far from home, undergoing difficult cancer treatments. In that moment, our Founder felt a deep calling to help. She knew that while these children were receiving incredible care, they needed something more—something to brighten their spirits during one of the most challenging times in their lives.
From this realization, Project 5600 was born. Since then, Faithful Hearts has worked year after year to ensure that no child at Akron Children’s Hospital faces the holiday season without the joy of receiving a special gift. Every year, we provide personalized gifts for every child battling cancer on the 5600 floor, making sure they feel loved and cared for during a time when they need it most.
Our Goal
The purpose of Project 5600 is simple yet powerful: to show these children that they are not alone, to bring joy to their hearts, and to share the love of Christ through thoughtful and meaningful gifts. Our team works to collect donations, prepare gifts, and deliver them to the hospital to ensure that every child knows they are in our thoughts and prayers during this special season.
