Meet The Founder

In November 2013 Emma Sayre witnessed her father catering a Christmas Eve dinner at Akron Children’s Hospital on the 5600 floor, of the cancer unit. Inspired by the experience, she decided to help provide gifts for the Children on that floor who had to spend Christmas in the hospital. To raise money, she began making potholders and sold them for a dollar each. That year, she successfully raised $500!

After a few years of creating potholders, the focus shifted to making Christmas ornaments, a tradition that continues to this day.

In 2021, Emma’s grandfather, Sam Sayre, passed away. Her whole life she watched her grandfather use his resources to show the love of Christ to everyone he met. In his honor Emma created Faithful Hearts, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others. The name Faithful Hearts was chosen to reflect the values of compassion, generosity, and service that Sam exemplified throughout his life.
